let it snow

Last night I posted three pieces of light weight cardboard in the process of my applying some gesso on them. Today while cooking and prepping for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, I painted, applied some gel medium, clippings from newspapers, some torn book pages and scraps of fabric. I read in a craft magazine about laying a piece of tule over the piece and sewing around the edges. I may add some glass beads or something. A fun little project that I will play around with some more! Bon appetit!

from trash to . . .

Part of my creative process is using unusual materials. Lately I have been using light weight cardboard from cereal boxes. We are unable to recycle it here so when I am faced with a challenge, I tackle it artistically. So far I have had very good luck using it. Gesso, torn book pages, the comics from the newspaper, paint and my collection of rubber stamps have satisfied my cravings to create. Below are some small boxes from over-the-counter medicines. Who knows what they will become. Stay tuned! Bon appetit!

Satisfying My Sweet Tooth

I have an insatiable appetite for trying new art techniques. I have stacks of magazines (I adore them), a plethora of books (such eye candy) and so much inspiration in my beautiful city (which feeds my soul). I am an amateur at best and whole heartedly admit that. Oh how I wish I had the time and sometimes the money to satisfy my artistic curiosities. I will share my experiences here. The victories and the failures. I look forward to feedback and an exchange of ideas. I welcome you and hope we be come partners in artistic adventures! Here's to whetting our appetite together! Bon appetit!!
